Hi Everyone! It’s Becky and I am here tell tell you about the final book in the Wicked Trilogy by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Before I start with my review I should probably mention that I have a little bit of a girl rush of Ms. Armentrout. You can watch the video of me describing a slightly embarrassing interaction I had with the author here. Also, beware because there may be spoilers for the first two books in the series.
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Summary: Ivy has escape the nightmare of her imprisonment by the fey prince. However, Ivy isn’t back to her old self. She is hiding from her former employers as well as the fey who want to use her to open the gates between the worlds and bring on the apocalypse. The only bright spot in her life is her true love Ren Owens but there are things that Ivy can’t even tell him. Can Ivy overcome the pain of her capture and save her relationship with the man she loves and possibly the world?
Review: This book has everything you expect from a Jennifer L. Armentrout book. It had a butt kicking main character, a charming male lead, and some really fun sarcastic snark. However, there were parts that just didn’t quite work for me. I wasn’t thrilled with the final show down between our heroes and the big bad. It felt like it took way too long to get to that point but then it felt a little rushed. In fact, the entire plot felt a little sluggish which made it even more disappointing that few of the series’ mysteries were resolved. Adding, to that was a little less of the Ivy and Ren sizzle which I enjoyed so much in the first two books. It was still there but in a much lesser amount. These issue barely detract from the enjoyment of the story but makes it so that the third book is not quite on the same level as the first two in the series. However, fans of the author and the series will consider this book a must read and while it is not the authors’s best true fans will not be disappointed.
Final Rating: 3 out of 5
