35952952Summary: Digby and Zoe are back and still trying to solve the mystery of who took Digby’s sister, Sally, nine years.  Making thing more complicated is that Digby and Zoe may finally be together.  Can they with their friends: Sloane, Felix, and Henry finally found out what happened to Sally?

Review: Three years ago I stumbled across the delightful book “Trouble is the Friend of Mine” by Stephanie Trombly.  I was taken in immediately by the smart and witty characters that I instantly feel in love with the story of smart teens trying to solve a mystery.  I happily read the sequel and was hesitantly eager to read the third and final book in the series.  I have had many beloved trilogies destroyed by a weak third novel.   However, I was pleasantly surprised with how Trombly chose to conclude her trilogy.  The characters that made the other books so wonderful are all here as is their sarcastic and smart banter which gave the book several laugh out loud moments.  The adventure/mystery is just as twisty as you would expect.  However, making the story deeper is the emerging romance between Zoe and Digby.  Their honest interaction gave this book an added level of realistic relationship drama which made the characters feel even more real than they had in the book.  Trombly carefully weaved together the loose ends from the first two books to make the perfect ending to a fantastic series.

Final Rating: 4 out of 5
