Teen Book Review: These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch

Hey everyone, it’s Sarah!

I swear I already wrote a review raving about this book because I liked it so much, but I can’t seem to find my review anywhere. So, if you have heard this before, stop me.

I received this as an eARC through Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

Adeluna is a rebel fighter for the new country of Grace Loray. Ever since she was a young child, she has been fighting for Grace Loray’s independence from the tyrannical empire of Argrid, a place whose religion condemns the magic users of Grace Loray.  When an Argrid delegate disappears during peace talks, Luna begins a journey that forces her to confront her beliefs. She doesn’t believe that the delegate was harmed by her people and she is determined to find out the truth. She teams up with Vex, a pirate, who is accused of harming the Argridian. Together, they will need their warrior past and connections to set the record straight and keep the nations from warring again.

I was predisposed to like this book, since I am always on board for an underdog rebel story. I loved the characters and the botanical elements of magic in this story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I enjoyed the lands that the characters encountered and even though the twist was predictable, I still enjoyed it. I am loving Stream Raiders.
