Teen Book Review: I Love You So Mochi by Sarah Kuhn

Hey everyone, it’s Sarah!

I got this as an ARC from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. I was super excited to get around to reading this book because I was totally taken in by the title and premise.

39828159. sy475 Summary:

Kimi is desperate to make her mother proud by following in her mother’s footsteps onto a fine art career. However, she is constantly being distracted by garments and fashion. She loves the joy she can bring to her friends through making them the perfect outfit. When her mother finds out that she has dropped out of her art class, they are no longer on speaking terms. Kimi jumps at the opportunity to spend spring break with her estranged grandparents in Japan, where she hopes to refocus on her future and find herself.

I thought this was a cute and fluffy book. It was a nice pairing of fashion with exploration of Japan. I liked Akira, the romantic interest, though he is flat. I feel like I know nothing about him and I want to know more because he has such potential. I am totally invested in Kimi and I think the only way for this book to get better would be the further development of the romantic counter-part.
