Hi All! We have finally said goodbye to the winter doldrums and the warm weather has found even us in the midwest. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate nice weather and help us cope with the last few months than with some hot new releases.
My Calamity Jane (Lady Janies) by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows
Release Date: June 2nd
I loved the first book in this series, My Lady Jane, and I can’t wait to read the newest installment. This time instead of being in 1500s England we are in the Wild West. Calmity Jane is a superstar in Wild Bill’s Travelling Show but when she finds herself in a jam she has to go to Deadwood to try to save the day. I’m super excited to read this book that I am sure will be filled with witty comebacks, awesome fantasy elements, and hopefully a little romance.
You Say It First by Katie Cotugno
Release Date: June 16
High School senior, Meg, is working at a non-profit calling unregistered voters and encouraging them to vote. Meg connects with Colby a boy going through a hard time in his life who just needs someone to talk to. The two form a relationship but their different past may make it impossible for them to ever be together. This book just sounds super cute plus Cotugno co-wrote Rules For Being a Girl which is one of my favorite books of 2020 so I have high expectations and I know I won’t be disappointed.
Really Truly (A Pumpkin Falls Mystery) by Heather Vogel Frederick

A few years ago I presented at a conference about the best books for tweens and I included Heather Vogel Frederick’s Absolutely Truly after I just feel in love with the mystery book with a smart and sassy main character. I was beyond thrilled when I found out there was a new book in this delightful tween cozy mystery series. I can’t wait to read about whatever new mystery Truly solves!
