Hi Everyone! It’s Becky, again. I am a big fan of Emma Chase’s Royal Series and I was excited when I found out there was a new spin-off series. I quickly downloaded from audible and here are my thoughts.
Title: Dirty Sexy Charmer
Author: Emma Chase
Note: I listened to the audiobook.
Other books I have reviewed by this author: Getting Schooled & Getting Played, Royally Yours, Royally Endowed, Royally Screwed & Royally Matched
Summary: Tommy Sullivan is a no nonsense security specialist. He is serious about his career, his clients, and his family but no so much about women. Tommy’s life changes when he meet the beautiful Abigail Haddock. Abby is the daughter of a titled gentleman from a family of prodigies who is working towards becoming a surgeon. The two immediately hit it off but their different backgrounds may keep them apart. Can Tommy and Abigail work through their differences to find their HEA?
Review: Dirty Sexy Charmer feels very much like other Emma Chase books and I mean that in the best way possible. Chase is a master at creating main characters that appear to be very average on the surface but have many wonderful layers and Tommy and Abigail definitely fit into this category with her family issues and his heart of gold. When the two are finally together they are a sizzling pair and their romance is filled with steam moments. However, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the other books in Chase’s series. I think that while Tommy and Abigail were perfectly fine together they didn’t quite click like the love interest in her other books. The were nice together but they didn’t quite fit together perfectly like you expect in a romance book. Their interactions were fine, good even, but they lacked the flirty fun usually found in Chase’s books. Also, my favorite part of Chase’s books is always the humor that makes a steamy romance feel like a perfect romcom and, unfortunately, Dirty Sexy Charmer lacked the funny moments found in the author’s other works. Don’t get me wrong, this is a perfectly fine romance that will be a great beach read but, for me, it didn’t quite live up to the author’s other books.
Final Rating: 3 out of 5
