What We’re Excited About

Happy soon-to-be-July, everyone! What’s the weather like where you are? We have had a lot of sunny hot days.  What’s the best way to stay cool? Curling up inside with air conditioning a good book! Here are just a short list of the books being released in July that we’re excited about:

Becky’s List

Keep My Heart in San Francisco by Amelia Diane Coombs
Release Date: July 14
43276212._SY475_
I love a good former friends to new loves book and Coomb’s newest novel sounds like a great one.  Caroline “Chuck” Wilson needs to find a way to save her family’s bowling alley and her former best friend, Beckett Porter, offers to help her find a way to infuse money into the business.  I am hoping for a book filled with flirty banter and swoony moments and I don’t think I will be disappointed.

10 Things I Hate About Pinky by Sandhya Menon
Release Date: July 21
46216773._SY475_
I am a big fan of Menon’s When Dimple Met Rishi books.  I especially loved There is Something About Sweetie.  I am unbelievable excited to revisit Menon’s universe especially with a novel about the rebellious Pinky fake dating the perfect Harvard-bound, Samir.  I have a weakness for fake date books and I know I this one will be awesome.

The Mall by Megan McCafferty
Release Date: July 28
40032339
McCafferty is one of the original greats in contemporary YA because of her Jessica Darling Series and I can’t wait to read her newest novel.  This time McCafferty gives us the story of Cassie Worthy a soon to be college freshman in 1991 who is about to experience the moment in her life where everything changes.  I excited to meet a new great character while revisiting a world before smart phones filled with scrunchies and mixed tapes.

Sarah’s List

Unravel the Dusk by Elizabeth Lim

Release Date: July 7th

36683940

The first book of the series was my favorite fantasy of the year. I loved the unique mix of traditional fairy tales with a Chinese mythology twist. The content of the first book is more appropriate for older teens, but I had a young teen gushing about the book. We both fangirled out about the next book  and neither of us could wait to see what happens next.

This sequel to Spin the Dawn is much needed. Maia has made the impossible dresses, but now the man she loves is gone and she is being hunted by a vengeful demon. Where can we go from here?! My emotions!

The Princess Will Save You by Sarah Henning

Release Date: July 7th

43603825. sy475

Princess. Bride. Retell. SIGN ME UP!! Princess Amarande is being forced to marry, though it seems like there is something going on with a stable boy. When conflicting kingdom steals the boy to force the marriage, Amarande jumps into action to save the day. YES! YES! I want this.

Hard Wired by Len Vlahos

Release Date: July 7th

45734832

While I have not been keeping up with this author’s books (which I am totally going to remedy ASAP), I loved Scar Boys. I am excited to see what more this author has created. This novel explores the life of the first fully aware A.I. I expect/hope this book will be an introspective emotional ride and I can’t wait.

What is your can’t wait to read book this month?
