Manga Review: My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi

Hey everyone, it’s Sarah!

The teens at the library are obsessed with My Hero Academia. When I started seeing this same anime pop up on TikTok, I thought it is time to see what is going on. I like to start my animes by first reading the manga (when I can). It took weeks to get volume 1 and there is a long list of people behind me.

25074597Title: My Hero Academia, Vol. 1 (1)

Author: Kohei Horikoshi

Summary:

Izuku Midoriya is obsessed with heroes and their quirks. He is the only one in his family without a quirk, but he is still determined to attend the Hero Academy without one. When one of his fellow classmates is attacked by a villain, Midoriya jumps into action even without any real way to help. This gets the notice of a famous Hero, who decides to help train him. Midoriya passes the test to enter the academy, but he is going to need to learn how to control his new powers if he wants to keep his spot.

Review:

This manga is so cute! I love the characters and their powers. It is fun how the author plays with illustration styles for certain characters. I can’t wait to watch the anime, I am sure it will be funny and cute. This novel is complete with a bully and potential romantic interest.
