Hi Everyone! It’s Becky. I put The Kindred Spirits Supper Club by Amy E. Reichert on the top of my TBR list when I first read the description. I listened to the audiobook, and this cute romance almost lived up to all my expectations.
Title: The Kindred Spirits Supper Club

Note: I listened to the audiobook.
Summary: Sabrina Monroe’s life has fallen apart. Sabrina lost her job, her boyfriend, and had to return to her childhood home. Oh, and Sabrina can see ghosts just like all the other women in her family. Sabrina’s plan is to wait her time at her parents’ house until she finds a job and can start over somewhere new. Sabrina’s plan is derailed when she meets Ray, a charming local restaurateur who takes a liking to Sabrina and her quirkiness. Can Sabrina make peace with her past and find love?

Review: I do so love a good romance with a little bit of paranormal activity added to the mix, and Reichert wrote an adorable book about falling in love with the help of friendly ghosts. Sabrina is the kind of romantic lead that is naturally relatable. She is struggling to find her place after realizing that everything she thought wanted was wrong. She is struggling in a way many new adult readers are struggling. Ray is a charming male lead with his own dreams that go against his family’s wishes. Sabrina and Ray together have plenty of adorable interations. My only issue with the book was all the conflict in the story was resolved too quickly. Sabrina resist Ray’s advances until she doesn’t, Ray’s parents want him to move back to New York until they are finally okay with him staying in Wisconsin, and Sabrina doesn’t want to take on her family’s legacy of helping ghosts until she decides (out of nowhere) to help people move on. I enjoyed the characters and enjoyed spending time with them; I just wish the author had given their personal growth the same development she gave their romance.
