Hey everyone, it’s Sarah!
I am always looking for good tween boy books, so this one made its way onto my radar.
Title: The Boy Who Failed Show and Tell
Author: Jordan Sonnenblick
In this semi-autobiographical (it is shelved as fiction in my library, so who knows where the truth begins and ends), Sonnenblick regales readers with tales from his childhood. Jordan was a curious and precocious child, who had good teachers, bad teachers, especially good teachers and especially bad teachers. His current teacher HATES him. Even though he tries to be good, somehow he is always getting into trouble. Beyond teacher troubles, Jordan has a storied path with his pet snake. Jordan is just a regular kid trying to make his way through life, maybe he will find someone who understands.
I think that many young guy readers will relate to this story. You can tell how genuine Jordan is in his quest to be good, but somehow everything blows up in his face. Jordan’s is able to keep the tough stuff light and show that life has a way of working out.
