Happy soon-to-be-July, everyone! What’s the weather like where you are? We have had a lot of sunny hot days. What’s the best way to stay cool? Curling up inside with air conditioning a good book! Here are just a short list of the books being released in July that we’re excited about:

Any Way the Wind Blows by Rainbow Rowell
Release Date: July 6

I loved Rainbow Rowell’s Carry On and its follow-up Wayward Son. I can not wait to read the last book in the Simon Snow trilogy. Do Simon and Baz get a happily ever after? Will Simon decide to stay part of the magic world? What happens to Penelope and Agatha? These are not questions I want to be answered; these are the questions I need to be answered!

Radha & Jai’s Recipe for Romance by Nisha Sharma
Release Date: July 13

I’m not going to lie, I was first drawn to this book because of the cover, but the description hooked me. Radha & Jai’s Recipe for Romance is about Radha, a new student dealing with the loss of her dream to be a dancer, who meets Jai, a popular boy at the top of his class who doesn’t have the money to follow his dreams to medical school. Jai knows Radha is the person who can make him happy, but they both have to face their pasts and their fears for the future to find happiness. This book sounds adorable, and I know it is going to be the perfect beach read.

Curses by Lish McBride
Release Date: July 20

I was a big fan of McBride’s Necromancer series. I loved the snarky narrative voice and the fast-paced story. I’m excited to read the author’s take on Beauty and the Beast.  Curses tells Merit’s story, who after being cursed into a beast, must team up with con-artist Tevin to find true love and break her curse. I’m am expecting a romantic retelling filled with laugh-out-loud moments, and I don’t expect to be disappointed.

Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim

I loved Lim’s Spin the Dawn, it was a great fantasy with Asian elements. I hope that this novel will be a version of a classic fairytale with Asian themes.

Shiori has a forbidden magic and when it surfaces, her stepmother banishes her and transforms her brothers into cranes. Against all odds, Shiori is determined to save her brothers and the kingdom.

Olivia is reeling from a recent break up and isn’t looking for love. Toni recently lost her father and is struggling with grief. The two will meet each other at a music festival and even those these two are not looking for love, they may have found their match. I loved Johnson’s You Should See Me in a Crown and I am hopeful for this second novel.
