What We’re Excited About

Hi All!  Fall is upon us!  It’s that time of year for pumpkins, cider, and awesome new books.  Here is a shortlist of books being released in October 2021 that we’re excited about:

The Shattered Castle by Jennifer A. Nielsen
Release Date:
October 19

I love Jennifer A. Nielsen’s Ascendance series, and I am thrilled there is a new book coming out. I can’t wait to visit with Jaron as he learns to be king. Jaron is tested when Carthya’s enemy attacks his castle. This book is going to be full of adventure and snarky humor…I can’t wait!

Frankie & Bug by Gayle Forman
Release Date: October 12

I have been a fan of Gayle Forman since I read If I Stay back in 2009. I will read any book she releases. Her new book Frankie & Bug sounds amazing.  Frankie & Bug takes place in 1987 and is about Bug, a ten-year-old girl, that befriends the nephew of her next-door neighbor, Frankie. The two spend the summer learning important lessons about themselves and the world. I have high expectations for this book, and I know I won’t be disappointed.

Any Sign of Life by Rae Carson
Release Date: October 12

Rae Carson hooked me with her Girl of Fire and Thorns series. I’m excited to read her new book about Paige, a teen girl who wakes in the hospital after an accident to learn that the apocalypse has happened and she is the last person in her town. This book promises to be a heart-pounding survival story that is at the top of my TBR list.

Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson

I enjoy this author, her fantasy feels very classic and I am excited to see what she has to come. This new book is about a warrior nun, who uses a powerful relic to taken down possessed soldiers.

Any Sign of Life by Rae Carson

Any Sign of Life

Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu

I am excited to see what Mathieu’s next book entails. This Outsiders gender flipped retell, should be a beautifully written good time.
